Networking event in Los Angeles

In November, Amici Lovanienses and Mission Lucidity had the pleasure of organising an informal networking event at the beautiful Belgian consulate residence in LA. We thank Consul General Gunther Sleeuwagen for hosting us, together with our friends at Belwest (Belgian-Luxemburg American Chamber of Commerce) and Flanders Investment & Trade USA.

We are also very greatful to Martine Bolsens-Peetermans (Amici Lovanienses) for moderating the panel discussion, and to our excellent speakers for enlightening us about their efforts and progress in fighting neurodegenerative diseases: Birgitt Schuele (Stanford University School of Medicine), Peter Janssen (KU Leuven, Mission Lucidity), Raffaella Borzi (imec) and Jenny Ceccarini (Mission Lucidity).

Dr. Ceccarini: "We were touched by the positive feedback and thoughtful questions of the attendees. The audience clearly shared our vision that research to help people with dementia is crucial and must absolutely continue. Funding from various sources, including vital philanthropic contributions, remains an important aspect to steadily keep our efforts moving forward."
